Recycling Leadership

Pennsylvania’s environmental services industry collects and processes the majority of residential and commercial recyclables in Pennsylvania and has invested more than $66 million in new recycling facilities, equipment and staff in just the past few years. In order to process recyclables, we have introduced the latest technology for consumer-friendly, single-stream recycling, worked with partners such as the Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center to develop markets for recycling materials, and integrated a commitment to recycling as part of the overall solution to turning waste into a resource.

We regularly host recycling education events at the Pennsylvania State Capitol to tell the story of the industry’s innovation, investment, economic growth and environmental stewardship. Learn more about the role of recycling in Pennsylvania.
